Privacy Policy

This page explains what data FatClipboard collects, why, and what happens to it. If anything here is unclear, email alexarvio16@gmail.com.

The short version

Your clipboard history stays on your own device. We only collect the minimum needed to run accounts and billing, and to power the optional AI features you choose to use.

What stays on your device

Your clipboard history — everything you've copied, including text extracted from screenshots — is stored locally in a database on your computer. It is never uploaded to our servers and we never see it, with one exception: if you use an optional Pro AI feature (below), the specific item you act on is sent to a third-party API to process that one request.

What we collect

• Account info — your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password itself) when you create an account.
• Billing info — if you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. We keep a record of your subscription status (active, trialing, canceled) so the app knows which features to unlock.
• AI feature usage — if you use AI Transform or semantic search (Pro features), the specific clipboard text you're acting on is sent to our AI providers (Anthropic and Voyage AI) to generate the result. We log how many tokens these requests use, for our own cost tracking — not the content itself.

Third parties we use

• Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Anthropic (Claude) — powers AI Transform. Only the clipboard text you explicitly transform is sent, only when you trigger it.
• Voyage AI — powers semantic search for Pro users. Clipboard text is sent to generate a search index.
• Resend — sends transactional email (e.g. a welcome email on signup). We don't use it for marketing.
• Our own server — a Postgres database that stores account records (email, hashed password, subscription status) needed to run the service.

None of these are used for advertising, and we don't sell data to anyone.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, which removes your account record and cancels any active subscription. Your local clipboard history is stored only on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear it yourself.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your account data at any time. If you're in a region with specific data protection rights (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), those rights apply — email us and we'll handle the request.

Children

FatClipboard isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
